The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas declined to US$ 95.86 /barrel (bbl) on 18.6.2012.The price was lower than US$ 96.79 /bbl on the previous trading day of 15.6.2012.

In rupee terms, also the crude oil price decreased to Rs 5329.82 per bbl on 18.06.2012 from Rs 5397.01 per bbl on 15.06.2012. This was due to decrease in the price in dollar terms and rupee appreciation with rupee-dollar exchange rate on 18.06.2012 at Rs 55.60 /US$ against Rs 55.76? /US$ on 15.06.2012.?
