Dulsco has been acclaimed for its stringent QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) standards, with employees being trained regularly on the most advanced international practices. The company's QHSE programme is an ongoing process which ensures that the employees have a complete understanding of workplace safety procedures.
Abdul Aziz Mohammad Khan Abdulla, Chairman, Dulsco, said, "Workplace safety and risk prevention have always been an integral part of Dulsco's best practices due to the nature of our business. We are a committed employer with a greater responsibility towards the safety of our employees and the local communities we live and work with."
"The week-long QHSE campaign was yet another example where companies and employees worked together in order to create a safe environment at the workplace. We believe that workplace safety is a collective responsibility of all employees and not just a few. Dulsco's comprehensive QHSE programme continues to inspire other companies who are keen to keep their employees safe at all times," added Johnson Alexander, Director, Human Resources and QHSE, Dulsco.
Through interactive sessions held during the QHSE Week, Dulsco employees were given thorough training in all aspects of workplace safety - such as basic health and safety awareness, anti narcotics awareness, road safety, safety while segregating waste, identification of possible hazards, defensive safe driving practices for drivers, health awareness, emergency evacuation for workers, fire drills, site cleaning and housekeeping practices. The sessions were accompanied by quiz competitions, educational movies, and blood donation drives which were carried out in the UAE and Qatar.
Towards the end of the QHSE Week, employees were also recognised for their contribution and constructive suggestions in ensuring that world-class safety procedures are implemented in their day-to-day work.
The QHSE Week concluded with Bureau Veritas, the international certifying organisation, presenting the Integrated Management System certificates on quality, environment, and occupational health &safety to the various business units in Dulsco. The closing ceremony was attended by Bureau Veritas Certification manager, Seray Topal, and Major Ali Muhammad Al Badwawi from the Dubai Traffic Police Department, who shared relevant information with Dulsco employees.
Dulsco was recently acknowledged as one of the Top Companies to Work for by the Great Place To Work Institute, a global research and management consultancy, after reviewing the confidential feedback received from their employees and an independent audit of their human resource practices. With the inception of the survey three years back in the UAE, the company has consecutively been among top ranked organisations in the country.
