Pixelmator 3.0 has been released, bringing Mavericks compatibility, layer styles, and more. Layer styles are non-destructive ways to help you quickly apply colors, gradients, or effects so you can create more advanced compositions easier and faster than before. The preset layer styles are found at the bottom of the Styles panel, and you can create your own layer styles as well.
Liquify tools allow you to reshape your images. You can choose from the Warp, Bump, Pinch, Twirl, and smudge tools to get different results. For instance, the Twirl tool will twist a circular section of your image, the diameter of which you can set. These new tools, along with layer styles come along with a new image editing engine designed to make Pixelmator feature-rich, but still fast.
Pixelmator 3.0 comes with support for Mavericks, including tages, multiple displays, and App Nap. It is a free download for exisitng users, and available for $29.99 for new users in the Mac App Store.
