The drought is to blame for the partial closure of a west side golf course.
Starting Monday, the first nine holes of the Ladera Golf Course will be closed for repairs. Golfers told KOB Eyewitness News 4 the turf has gotten pretty bad because of the three-year drought.
But that's not the only issue. Management said nearby construction work is also to blame.
KOB spoke to golfers as soon as the announcement of the partial closure was made.
"It needs repairs. We're playing on a lot of dirt there so we come with the ball a lot but it, it's getting there,? golfer Anthony Gutierrez said.
Management also said they will be reseeding the lawn, planting drought resistance plants and replacing trees damaged by the drought.
The first nine holes will re-open on Oct. 31.
